Job Summary:
The IT Automation Engineer will partner with the business leaders in designing, developing, and maintaining automated solutions to enhance monitoring, alerting, and system remediation in a hybrid healthcare IT environment. This role will leverage advanced scripting languages, APIs and automation frameworks to optimize system reliability, improve incident response, and ensure the seamless operation of critical healthcare applications and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in monitoring solutions, automation tools, and IT system observability, ensuring proactive issue detection and resolution.

Essential Job Functions:
Implementation consultant will be involved in designing, configuring, implementing and maintaining SolarWinds monitoring solutions to track network performance, availability, and security
SolarWinds hands on experience is must and knowledge of Datadog monitoring platform is a plus
Install, customize and maintain SolarWinds Orion platform modules - NCM, NPM, SAM, NTA, IPAM, Log Analyzer and DPA
Ability to setup NCM jobs like backup configs and executing scripts on devices
Perform preventive maintenance on SolarWinds components, including applying patches, updating software releases and ensuring high availability of the monitoring platform
Handle and support day to day operations / requests for monitoring needs
Experience with SNMP, WMI, SolarWinds Agents, SSH and JMX for data collection
Experience with SQL Server and SWQL for database management and reporting
Develop/Customize new web reports both scheduled and ad-hoc reports
Proficient in one or more scripting languages (Python, Perl, PowerShell or more)
Experience in building custom Maps and Dashboards specifically for Application support groups / Service oriented / NOC / Management
Implemented/Enabled integrations with the platforms: GCP, Azure, VMware, Hyper-V and On-Prem
Knowledge of SolarWinds Alert management integration with IT service management (ITSM) tools (ServiceNow) to streamline incident response and resolution.
Optimize and maintain monitoring SolarWinds platform
Solid understanding of the Observability concepts at all infrastructure levels (servers, networks, storage, cloud services, containers, databases)
Automate system remediation process using SolarWinds Alerts Actions to reduce manual interventions and improve response times for infrastructure and application issues.
Create and manage intelligent alerting mechanisms across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments to enhance system observability.
Develop custom scripts and API integrations to extend the capabilities of existing monitoring tools and automate key processes.
Design and implement self-healing automation for common IT incidents, ensuring minimal downtime for critical healthcare systems.
Collaborate with Operations, Cloud Ops, and Infrastructure teams to enhance monitoring and automation capabilities across hybrid environments.
Analyze system performance trends and log data to identify areas for optimization and preventative maintenance.
Ensure compliance with healthcare security and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST( in monitoring and automation solutions.

Understating of modern technology architecture

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
At least 5+ years of experience in IT automation and monitoring in a hybrid cloud/on-premise environment.
Strong knowledge of monitoring and observability platform - SolarWinds Orion Primarily on NCM, NPM, SAM, NTA, IPAM, Log Analyzer and DPA.
Knowledge of Datadog is a plus
Proficiency in Python scripting for automation, data processing, and API integrations.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, Azure) and their monitoring services.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, system logs, and security monitoring principles
Hands-on experience with IT automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or PowerShell scripting.
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in a complex IT environment.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across IT, security, and business teams.
