Job Title: Java Solution Architect
Location: McLean, VA (Onsite – 5 days a week)
Employment Type: 12 Months Contract

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join our team in McLean, VA. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong expertise in designing, implementing, and scaling enterprise solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge across Java, AWS, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, with a strong background in the mortgage/financial services domain.

Key Responsibilities

Lead solution design and architecture for enterprise applications in the mortgage space.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to define technical requirements and align with business objectives.
Design scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions leveraging Java, AWS cloud services, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
Ensure architectural integrity, adherence to best practices, and alignment with enterprise standards.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to development teams.
Conduct architectural reviews, performance tuning, and ensure compliance with security guidelines.
Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs and solution blueprints.

Required Qualifications

Proven experience as a Solution Architect in enterprise-level environments.
Strong hands-on expertise with:
Java (enterprise applications)
AWS Cloud (core services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.)
PostgreSQL and MongoDB (design, optimization, scaling)
Solid understanding of mortgage industry processes, systems, and regulatory requirements (MUST have mortgage domain experience).
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work onsite in McLean, VA, Monday–Friday (5 days a week).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with microservices architecture and API design.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with data integration, ETL, and analytics solutions.
