Title: Senior Mainframe Developer With 15+ Yrs

Location: Jacksonville, Florida, USA

Onsite 5 days work from the office 

Job Summary:

• We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer to support the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of mission‑critical enterprise applications. 
• The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on expertise with mainframe technologies, including COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, IMS‑DB, and associated tools. 
• This role requires strong analytical capabilities, a commitment to reliability, and the ability to provide comprehensive 24/7/365 production support for high‑availability systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and implement new and existing mainframe business applications.
• Provide continuous production support, including troubleshooting and resolution of system issues to ensure maximum system stability and availability.
• Develop and maintain interfaces, reports, and utilities to support core business functions.
• Conduct system integration testing and support user acceptance testing activities.
• Review, enhance, and debug existing programs to improve performance, efficiency, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, testers, and infrastructure teams, to resolve issues and deliver enhancements.
• Proven experience supporting highly available systems in a 24/7/365 production environment.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to collaborate across departments.

Required Qualifications:

• 5 to 15 years of progressive, hands-on experience with:
• COBOL, DB2, JCL, MS‑DB,CICS,VSAM

Technical Environment:

Languages & Tools: COBOL, JCL, Changeman, File‑Manager, IBM Debug Tool, dBeaver, IWS Job Scheduler, MQMON, TSO/ISPF

Databases: DB2, IMS‑DB

Transaction Management: CICS

File Systems: VSAM

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using enterprise job scheduling tools such as IWS, CA7.
• Knowledge of mainframe debugging and file management utilities.
• Exposure to Agile or DevOps methodologies and practices.

Soft Skills:

• Strong organizational and time‑management capabilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proactive approach with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
• Effective communication skills for interactions with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Flexibility and adaptability to evolving business priorities.
