Position Title: Senior Application Support Engineer 

Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)

Contract

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Application Support Engineer to provide advanced support for enterprise applications, data workflows, and compliance-related systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SQL Server, C-Link, IBM DataStage, Managed File Transfer (MFT), and SQL scripting, along with a foundational understanding of DBA tasks. Experience in AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and Sanctions systems is essential, as this role supports critical compliance applications and processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide L2/L3 support for business-critical applications, including those related to AML and Sanctions monitoring, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance.
  • Take ownership of supported applications, acting as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting, enhancements, and stakeholder communication.
  • Lead the team with Development and support work (along with ownership).
  • Work with Offshore team to keep things on track
  • Support and maintain SQL Server environments, including query optimization and basic DBA tasks such as backups and user access.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot C-Link integrations and data flows.
  • Develop, maintain, and support ETL processes using IBM DataStage.
  • Manage and support Managed File Transfer (MFT) systems to ensure secure and reliable data exchange.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for reporting, analysis, and data validation.
  • Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure AML and Sanctions systems meet regulatory requirements.
  • Document support procedures, known issues, and configuration details for knowledge sharing and audit readiness.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in application support or related technical roles.
  • Strong experience with:
  • Patriot Manager AML tool along with CLINK.
  • SQL Server and SQL scripting
  • C-Link (data integration and connectivity)
  • IBM DataStage (ETL development and support)
  • Managed File Transfer (MFT) tools and protocols
  • AML and Sanctions systems and workflows
  • Basic understanding of DBA tasks such as database backups, user management, and performance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with incident management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Understanding of ITIL practices and change management.
  • Certification in SQL Server, DataStage, or AML compliance tools is a plus.
