Overview
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a Product Development Coordinator to oversee, develop, and coordinate complex IT product and solution development initiatives for the ServiceNow platform. This hands-on leadership role will manage delivery schedules, technical integration, and product performance, aligning with the Department’s business goals and technology standards.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Communication, or related field
- OR equivalent job-related experience (year-by-year basis)
Experience
- Minimum 7 years in IT product development, engineering, or project delivery (focus on software lifecycle management)
- At least 5 years leading cross-functional teams through complex product/technology solution delivery in high-tech or government environment
- Experience managing product timelines, release planning, stakeholder expectations
- Experience coordinating software/system integration and post-deployment support for ServiceNow
- Familiarity with Agile, backlog grooming, and sprint planning (preferred)
- Knowledge of government procurement and IT governance (Florida’s 60GG-1 through 5, F.A.C. desirable)
- Strong communication and presentation skills for business and leadership audiences
- Experience with SharePoint 365, Microsoft Project, and collaborative planning tools highly desired
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate software product delivery from planning to implementation across teams/vendors
- Facilitate collaboration between business users, developers, and enterprise architecture teams
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps, release schedules, and milestones
- Track/report development status, release readiness, risk mitigation strategies
- Translate business requirements into actionable delivery plans
- Serve as liaison with end users on integration, custom development, and support planning
- Align development timelines with resources, funding, and procurement cycles
- Lead/support prototyping, technical evaluations, solution testing before production release
- Coordinate change management, communications, and stakeholder training for new features
- Ensure smooth transition of functionality to operations and promote user adoption

Product & Program Delivery
- Knowledge of ServiceNow best practices, software product lifecycle stages
- Familiarity with technical architecture alignment, product versioning, release planning
- Skills in backlog prioritization, cross-team dependency management, performance monitoring
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional designs/roadmaps
- Experience managing schedule, cost, and quality metrics
Business & Technical Capabilities
- Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies
- Ability to analyze business needs and recommend technology solutions
- Strong communication skills for technical and business audiences
- Experience aligning delivery with compliance, accessibility, security, and enterprise standards
- Ability to integrate new technologies into existing platforms
Additional Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration platforms (Word, Excel, Project, Visio, SharePoint 365)
- Experience with product management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps)
- Ability to coordinate multiple release cycles while managing stakeholder expectations
