Program Manager / Programming Engineering Lead

Location: Phoenix, AZ (100% Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term Contract

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus, and Palo Alto network infrastructure.
• Manage and troubleshoot enterprise network environments, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
• Configure and support routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
• Lead network upgrades, patching, performance monitoring, and capacity planning activities.
• Coordinate installation and troubleshooting of copper and fiber network cabling.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders on network projects and deployments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineering teams.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.
• Travel to Fire Department and partner facilities for field support activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting large enterprise networks.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Cisco IOS, Cisco Catalyst, and Cisco Nexus
• Palo Alto Next Generation Firewalls and Panorama
• BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP routing protocols
• VPNs, IPsec, NAT, and QoS
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools:
• SolarWinds Orion
• Splunk
• ServiceNow
• Jira
• Experience leading small teams and coordinating contractors/vendors.
• Experience supporting 24x7 mission-critical environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Public Safety, Emergency Services, or Government network experience.
• CCNP, Palo Alto PCNSE, or equivalent industry certifications.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.

Additional Requirements

• Must be local to the Phoenix, AZ area.
• Must be able to work 100% onsite.
• Valid driver's license required; position involves travel to customer sites.
