Senior-Mid Level AWS Cloud Administrator / Cloud Architect
AWS Architect/Admin role

Work Time Zone: Seattle

We are seeking a senior AWS Cloud Administrator / Cloud Architect to support a not-for-profit client across approximately 10 AWS environments. This person will replace the current AWS Cloud Architect and must be mature enough to hold elevated AWS administrative access while also being hands-on enough to manage AWS services and support future architecture needs.
This is primarily an AWS administration and cloud operations role, not an application developer or delivery role.
Key Responsibilities

Triage and execute AWS admin requests, including access, configuration, security, networking, monitoring, and operational support.
Manage privileged AWS access responsibly, including IAM users, roles, policies, and permissions.
Troubleshoot AWS operational issues and coordinate with vendor support teams, including Convergence and Wowrack.
Work directly with client stakeholders, technical teams, and leaders.
Support AWS architecture planning for future business and technology requirements.
Maintain good documentation, change discipline, and security awareness.
Required Experience
Senior hands-on AWS administration experience.
Experience supporting multiple AWS accounts or environments.
Strong knowledge of IAM, EC2, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, security groups, networking, backup, and monitoring.
Experience with AWS security, access management, and operational governance.
Ability to operate independently with elevated access in a trusted client environment.
Strong communication skills with both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
Experience coordinating with vendors or managed service providers.
Required Certifications
At least one of the following AWS certifications is required:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
AWS Certified Security – Specialty
Preferred certifications:
AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
ITIL Foundation or equivalent IT service management certification
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a mature, trusted AWS administrator with architecture skills. They should be comfortable holding “keys to the kingdom” access, managing AWS admin requests, collaborating with vendors, advising stakeholders, and supporting future cloud architecture needs.
