Location: Onsite (Reno, NV)

 
Overview:
Seeking an L2 Data Center Technician with hands-on experience in troubleshooting servers/switches, hardware replacement, firmware upgrades, and advanced cabling. The role involves working closely with network/system admins to resolve issues, ensure connectivity, and support data center operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Rack & stack servers, switches, and storage devices
• Perform fiber & Ethernet cabling, labeling, and management
• Diagnose issues, replace faulty hardware, and manage RMA
• Configure IPs, perform firmware upgrades, and validate systems
• Provide L1/L2 support and remote hands (power cycle, reseating, console access)
• Coordinate with network teams for connectivity and issue resolution
• Maintain inventory, asset tracking, and audit records
• Monitor alerts and update tickets via ITSM tools
Required Skills:
• Networking fundamentals (IP, switching, routing basics)
• Server hardware (NIC, memory, drives)
• Fiber & Ethernet cabling
• ITSM tools (ServiceNow or similar)
• Console tools (SSH, PuTTY)
Soft Skills:
• Strong communication & coordination
• Attention to detail
• Comfortable in 24×7 shift environment
