Job Title: Cloud Architect

Location: Dallas, TX / Tampa, FL / Jersey City, NJ

Duration: 6 months - Contract

 

Job Description

• Cloud Architect (typically a Senior Principal or Executive Director level) leads the strategy, design, and governance of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud platforms, with a heavy emphasis on AWS.
• Responsibilities include defining cloud-native architectures, managing migration roadmaps, and embedding security (DevSecOps) in a highly regulated financial environment.
• This role is strategic, focusing on governance rather than hands-on engineering.
• Define target-state cloud architectures, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) adoption and modernization from on-premise systems.
• Establish, maintain, and enforce cloud security, compliance, and risk management standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, CIS benchmarks).
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, mentoring technical teams, and collaborating with developers, risk, and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
• Lead architecture reviews, evaluate new technologies, and create design patterns for application development.
• Proven experience in cloud architecture for large, complex, and highly regulated enterprises, preferably in financial services.
• Deep knowledge of AWS cloud services, including IAM, networking, security controls, and governance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking abilities, with experience in building DevSecOps models.
• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
