With developers from all over the world, it seems like a good idea to take a fiew moments to introduce ourselves. I'm continuously surprised by bumping into someone I've met at the scirra forums under a different name and avatar. It's like running into someone outside of work that you see five days a week but don't recognize in their civies! I was going to go first, but I just got a phone call, so someone else gets to do the honors.

i think that's very important too. we'll add it to the automatic set of to dos new developers receive when they signup.

I'm not as active as you guys in the Scirra forum, but I'm FaceySpacey and here's my profile:

Hi!

I'm Daniel (I go by sqiddster on the Scirra forums). I'm 17 and based in Pennsylvania. I heard about C2 a year or so ago and have been developing on it ever since. I'm probably most well known for my game AirScape, which has turned out to be quite popular...
I'm working on the Super Shape series where my main job is to drive James crazy with various non-related issues regarding to that development ;)

Should be interesting to hear from you all!

Hi,

I'm Jackson, I´m 18 and brazilian. My name in Scirra forum is the same(Jackson Lucas), I´m not active on Scirra forum but I always login to check the manual and other things. I saw C2 two months ago and started work on this month.

Hi there, I go by Sheepy in the forums. ;] I´m from Brazil too and I´ve started developing actively a while ago, mainly in C2. I´ve worked as a web designer but my main passions are game dev, animation(my course in college!) and illustration. I´m driving Jacques mad with my silly bugs right now, but this has been a great opportunity!

If I can help in something, just drop a line ;]

Greetings,

I like this idea of putting some 'real people' behind all of our names so please let me introduce myself.  I'm Ray Horsley, married, and we have a son and daughter ages 19 and 22.  My experience programming began 'back in the day' when I became fascinated with tools like HyperCard which Apple included with the original Macs of the late 1980's.  I continue to be fascinated with, as military leaders put it, the 'chain of command', one of several analogies to software development which I get a kick out of.  I really enjoy C2 and working as a team with all of you on our current games project.  Hope you all have a great weekend!

My name is Marc Graham, I am located in Redondo Beach Ca.

I've been working with Construct2 for about 6 month's now and have coded a few  prototypes. They can be found at http://www.m2ag.net/dev/ . The gyro app is intended to work on iPad.  I will be restarting work on TS_Arcade (The space shooter game ) in the near future to turn it into a ,hopefully, complete game.

I am excited to find this work for  mgh, I almost have my first clone done -- the Space Race counting game. The work has been very educational for me as I got a chance to see what someone was looking for in a completed game.  Plus it gave me a  chance to use some of rex rainbows plugins. All the little animated sequences were killing me, but  the worksheet and sequence plugins as well as the lunarray EaseTween behavior have made the project manageable.

I started in the tech industry administrating Novell  and Lotus Notes networks. My first coding job was developing Lotus Notes applications.  I have messed with C#, but most of my current experience is with php .  I really like working in the Amazon cloud and have experience with Dynamo DB, Elastic Beanstalk (for php apps), Cloud Front,  Steaming video  and the regular EC2 and EBS apps. I  have a BSCS, so I have messed with several other technologies in school.

I am looking forward to improving my skills working with you all and eventually landing a full time gig some where making web enabled games/apps.

I’m David Taylor (aka blackhornet). I’m a senior software developer from B.C, Canada. I discovered Construct 2 in May and haven’t spent more than a day not working on something with it. I’ve taken on the two Road Race games, and the first one is progressing quite nicely. I actually got my start in programming by writing games and managed to get published in a magazine several times (that’s when that was the only way to get a hobbyist game out into the world). Looking forward to learning new things through this process.

Hi all,

I'm Tobye Ryan (Tobye in the Scirra forums).  I have been around the games industry for about 4 years, haven't accomplished much thus far though, you'll only see my credits on a few Facebook and iPad games for design work.  Also won some design awards from IGDA.  I hadn't been that eager to commit myself to games as a career until my brother got me into Construct, it has made prototyping an absolute breeze and I am currently working on 4 titles that are all progressing nicely.

I have no programming knowledge, but really want to learn how to integrate my games into facebook and Kongregate, as well as create in-app purchases via Appmobi's 1Touch.  So any help with that would be appreciated :)

Im just a slowpoke freelancer from cold Russia.
I found C2 interesting rad tool yet never used it before.
Sometimes i wish it just let me c++/lua/whatever instead of gui.
I hope ill finish this railroad game soon (everything seems complete,
only minor tuning left)

I've been meaning to write one of these for a while, nice to meet everyone!

I'm Daven Bigelow, I'm currently 19 years old and living in Canada (born & raised here but spent my final 7 years of highschool in England).

On the forums I go by my Internet nickname Jayjay, but after the publishing of my book Construct Game Development: Beginner's Guide I tied my real name to the pseudonym.

This is my first time making a full game in Construct 2 (the Array program), although I have made programs in it before (notable is the Customer Service Monitor http://www.juch-tech.com/support/customer-service-monitor/ for my workplace).

Anyway, I'm glad to be a part of the development team!

Hi All,

I figured it was about time I introduced myself. My name is Brian and I'm from Australia but now live in the UK. On the scirra forums I go by the name of OddConfection, I've not released any Construct 2 games yet but have a few in development.

When I'm not messing about with Construct 2  I work for a Canada-based indie games company called Reverie World Studios. We released our first game - Dawn of Fantasy - a while back and are now trying to get it onto Steam through the Greenlight project -> http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=92931949

Hi, Gavin here from Singapore. Software engineer by trait. Thought I'd have some experience converting games with C2 and get paid at the same time.

I'm currently in between jobs, and might make writing games my future rice bowl. At the same time, I review games over at Daily PC Game Reviews (http://www.dailypcgamereviews.com). So if anyone has a game for me to review, write me.

Thanks... getting off the rostrum now.

This is Kim Ball again. Even though I started this topic, I never did actually introduce myself, so here goes.

I'm kittiewan in the scirra forums. I live in the US near Williamsburg, Virginia. I consider myself a jack-of-all-trades (with all that implies about mastery), having worked in commercial software development, marketing, graphic design, technical writing, QA and a bunch of other stuff. What other stuff you ask? Well, for years I was a certified horseback riding instructor. That was fun, but didn't pay too well. And of course I waited on tables to pay my way through university, because you gotta do that. Then in grad school I went to work for one of my profs in a startup company. That lasted over a decade until we sold the company...And then there was this pharmaceutical equipment business... But that's all in the past. What about now?

Last fall I stopped by to give Construct (aka Construct Classic) another look. That's when I discovered and fell in love with C2, and now I'm doing what I set out to do: I'm making money making games!

Plus I get to work from home (in my bunny slippers) with great people from all over the world. Can it get any better than that?

Cheers!
Kim

Hello Everyone,

Apologies! Writing in the introduction quite late, you guys keep bombarding the art work/fixes on me :), was just trying to make sure each one of you get the fixes in time. However this actually gave me a chance to interact with most of you guys on this project.

Coming back to the Intro part. I am from India, and running a small IT firm for the last 4 years now, before this worked as Tech. Support Engineer and Business development(IT) guy with various IT companies for 5 yrs. You can visit my profile @ in.linkedin.com/in/rohitgulati80

How come I am working with James/Josh/Jacques and you guys? Had worked with James a while ago on few of his projects and he was kind enough to remember me!
It has been a Fantastic experience creating New Art for all the games by just playing again n again the old games(as PSDs were not there for old games), probable reason for few missing arts in the games. Now also doing development in C2 for few games (Egg-Stremely Equal and Dino Series). My entire team has been introduced to C2 for the very first time in this project otherwise they are pro in manual coding, Jacques had liked the initial version of Egg game so I guess they are catching up to C2. Great tool.

Thanks everyone for being so patient and nice to me ;-)

New Art provider,
Rohit Gulati

Aw, what the heck. May as well introduce myself too.

I am Miha Petelin from Slovenia, a long time Construct veteran without anything but examples to show. You may know me as Mipey on Scirra forum. I've developed the SpriteFont plugin for C2, which is causing me some gray hair. Eh, I'll live. I am also an aspiring writer, having written dozens of drafts, publishing none. That's the kind of person I am, never satisfied with my own creations.

I am also deaf, using hearing aid and cochlear implant. Imagine the difficulty working with the small mountain of sounds and voices. Thankfully my sister has been helping me, transcribing these sounds for me! Of course it is not cheap, she expect me to buy her something with these earnings. Oh well!

Now I find myself improving my C2 skills and experience doing these projects, which gives me the confidence I may need for my own projects I've been putting off indefinitely. My inability to create decent graphic is another major block on the path of C2 game developer. Luckily here with you guys I don't have to worry about that!

Regards,
Miha

Hi everyone
So great to see other South Africans in the community!
I'm Paul, 22 and live in South Africa. I work full time as an IT tech in a small town. I started programming in school computer sciences using Delphi, and have made a successful database application to keep track  of the jobs we do and calculate commission.
My real love is gaming and I have wanted to make games for a long time now. After much trial and error I've found construct and later Construct 2 to be the fastest and best ways to make my games, so that will be my tool of choice.

So I haven't actually completed a game I set out to make, every time I tried was a great experience. My main problem with each game I attempt is that I am just not satisfied with my own programmer art and spending too much time on that, making my motivation drop, so making games with already completed art might be the way out of my slump and into real game developing.
