Meeting changes?

acquaintance!) who said she has a group of friends that, due to "mommy
duties", would be interested in a morning meeting. I know Cheryl from
CLAWS has been hoping for a morning meeting opportunity and my current
schedule would allow for me to participate (at least for the next
month) in a morning meeting, so I'm putting it out here - would anyone
else want to try to get together for a morning branch of our group?
I know our poll has indicated otherwise in the past but maybe the group
list now has enough different people to where it would be feasible.
I'm proposing a Tuesday morning at 9 am at Coffee Emporium, since Hyde
Park seems to be a good location for most of our people.
Speaking of Coffee Emporium, I hear that attendance is down for the
Monday meetings (sorry Honnay!), so I have to assume that interest in
them is, too. I'm going to propose cancelling those meetings unless
people tell me on the board that they want them to continue. I am
still working until 8:30 pm for at least another month so I can't make
those meetings and it's not fair to Kimber to make her trek out there
if no one else wants to go, so unless I hear otherwise from everyone
I'm going to seriously consider ending them.

Monday nights:
I've had a number of people say that they want to continue the Monday
night meetings, so we'll keep them and I'll work on finding another
spot for them. (Joseph-Beth maybe? They are open until 10pm...there's a
quickie way to get to it from the Coffee E. area that I can share with
you guys if you're interested, as well as if you take the Edwards exit
from I-71 to Rookwood Commons.) I have one or two other ideas in mind
but I'll have to do some footwork and keep you posted. The library in
Blue Ash worked in the past but the whole reason for moving the
meetings from the library was the fact that some other group had booked
it for the rest of the year, as well as the potential of the library
itself throwing everyone out for their own scheduled events. There was
also the threat of shorter hours due to funding cutbacks, according to
a librarian I spoke to. So, that is why I thought Coffee E. would be a
good fix for awhile, but now we must move on.
Morning meetings:
In case anyone was confused, I was proposing a morning meeting to
accommodate members available during that time in addition to, not
instead of our regular evening meetings. In the past, it seemed that
most of the group was/is 9-5'ers so that's how the meetings were
skewed. Now that we've had an influx of some new people/mommy types, as
well as my friend who wanted to do mornings bringing some people she
knows, I thought I'd at least throw this out here for people to try. If
it works, great, if not, it doesn't. I was going to try to attend the
morning meeting as long as my job schedule is conducive to it (I'm
seriously missing meeting with you guys! AAAAARGH!)
Responding to those who posted/emailed me, I do think 10 am on the
first Thursday of the month (give us time, we'll get all the weeks
covered!) might be the best for the largest amount of people to show. I
don't think I could stay longer than an hour because I have to be at
work by 11:30, and I'd likely show up a bit earlier, but you guys are
welcome to stay or come when you'd like. I am ignorant about what
construes as a good "toddler venue" so if you guys have a place that
you know of that works for you, I'm all ears - preferably Hyde Parkish.
I have an idea for the meeting room but I have to see if it is
feasible, so for the first meeting only, I propose Coffee Emporium
until I can get an alternate venue hammered out. To sweeten the deal,
Linda, who will be the "regular regular", says she can donate free
yarn, books, and other goodies for a monthly "door prize" for those who
show up! My penny-pinching little heart skips a joyous beat at the
thought.
In sum:
We're keeping Monday nights, new meeting place = Joseph Beth? Talk to
me.
We're starting the 1st Thursdays of the month at 10 am, permanent
location TBD but the first meeting will be at the Coffee Emporium on
10/6.
I'll post the notices and we'll get this rolling!
