Hi all,

In case some of you didn't know, I am currently between permanent jobs
(anyone need a desktop support geek?) and make my living as a contract
PC Technician/odd job doer. In my never-ending quest to pay the bills,
right wrongs, save children from burning buildings, promote world
peace, etc. etc. etc. (but mainly to pay the bills) I have taken a
2-month contract assignment starting next Wednesday in which the shift
ends at 8 pm. Due to this assignment, I am going to delegate the
responsibility for coordinating the meetings to our ever-faithful
Deputy Kimber in my absence. I will do my best to attend the Wednesday
night meetings at Fiber Naturell after work but the distance will not
allow me to attend the Monday night meetings at The Coffee Emporium at
all, and certainly not be able to teach a lesson in a timely manner.

The turnout at Coffee Emporium last time was thin (aka nobody, to my
knowledge), so if people are currently busy with school or other things
on Mondays, it might be best to postpone Monday nights until 2 months
from now anyway. Please log into the Meetup.com board at
http://knitting.meetup.com/70/ to give your comments, questions,
thoughts, feelings, and so forth on this proposal (not to mention keep
you listed as an "active" member to protect you against the upcoming
listpurge again.)

Don't forget the message board is open for anyone who is a member of
our group to start and discuss topics on, so jump in here or at the
above link and tell us about yourself, your favorite projects, any
knitting-related trips you might want to take (there are several
upcoming ones that people might want to go to and if there is enough
interest, we could attend as a group!) or other things and keep the
group alive. Remember, any group is only as strong as its members and
we encourage contributions from everyone, even if you're just starting
out and want to ask questions.

If you need to contact me about this (or just need your PC fixed at
good rates!) let me know by logging on to the Meetup.com board and
clicking my "Contact Me" link.

Thanks for being a part of the group!

I just wanted to put the word out that there is a new fabric and yarn shop
opening in West Chester mid-September. I am one of the owners and would love
to offer our shop up to you all to hold your meetings, knitting lessons,
etc. We have a knitting lounge with 2 sofas, armless chairs, tables, etc.
specifically for this purpose. We'll be offering classes and are looking for
more great teachers or people interested in working.

Please contact me if you're interested.
Thanks,
Lori Murray

Lori,
A woman I work with told me about the new shop. Her daughter Tammy
knows you? I'd love to come by some time. I do live a drive away
(Batavia) but I'd love to get more involved with helping teach etc at a
shop.

Where exactly will the knit shop be? I know we all have loyalties to
particular shops but it would be interesting to see what other shops look
like.

Is the woman you work with Nickie Konieczko? Tammy's my best friend! Funny,
what a small world.

The shop is called Yarns & Fabrications and we're on Cincinnati-Dayton Road,
just north of the 75 exit in Lakota Plaza. We're planning on opening
September 15 and having a Grand Opening the week of October 1. I would love
to meet you and have you come by the shop sometime. In fact, we'll be there
painting tomorrow if you're interested in stopping by. I know it's not much
notice, but since it's a Saturday, you might have more flexibility. If
you're not able, I totally understand and we can meet any time at your
convenience. The construction in the store isn't completely finished, so
it's in disarray, but it's really starting to look great and I'm completely
excited about it! This is a collaboration between my mother-in-law and me
and has been two years in the making. We can't wait to open and show
everyone our hard work! I'm available if you want to talk about details, but
I'd love to meet you and see some of your completed projects and, if you're
interested talk about the kinds of classes you're interested in teaching. If
you'd like to email me some ideas, that would be great. We'd like to offer
technique and project classes as well as workshops such as understanding
patterns, knitting 911 to help knitters with any problems, finishing
classes, private lessons, parties, etc. Any input or suggestions would be
greatly appreciated.

Just let me know what your schedule is and I'd be happy to show you the shop
and talk in greater detail. I can't wait to speak with you!
Thanks for the email.

We're located in West Chester. We're at 7967 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd, just
north of the 75 exit in Lakota Plaza. We'll be opening mid- to
late-September. I'd be happy to give you a tour any time, but we're in the
final stages of construction and then the monumental task of stocking our
shelves and cataloging our inventory is next, so we'll be scurrying to get
the doors open. The shop is called Yarns & Fabrications and is 4,150 square
feet. It features fabric as well as yarn and notions, books, patterns and
miscellaneous other items. We have a sewing classroom with sewing machines
at each station, a long arm quilting machine for finishing quilts, a
knitting lounge, a gift/consignment area and a coffee bar as well as all the
incredible yarn and fabric we'll be carrying. This is a collaboration
between my mother-in-law and me and has been two years in the making. I'll
email you as soon as I have a firmer date on the exact opening. I look
forward to meeting you and getting your input.
Thanks,
Lori

Lori,
Sorry I haven't called or written back. Unbelievably busy!! Yes the
woman I work with is Nickie. I'd love to come and see the shop and
talk about some Ideas. I will give you call this week. If this
weekend would work out for you, I am fairly flexible. Talk to you
soon.
