If your extension exchanges messages with a native app by using chrome.runtime.connectNative, make sure that you set allowed_origins to chrome-extension://[Microsoft-Catalog-extensionID] in your native messaging host manifest file. The setting allows the app to identify your extension.

I"ve been debating about switching to edge after using chrome for years, but only if I have the ability to transfer bookmarks. I have hundreds if not thousands of bookmarks in chrome and manually going to each site to favorite it on edge seems like it would be more trouble than its worth. I've seen online that you can sync chrome and edge by signing into your google account but when I try to do so it will only let me sign into my microsft account. Is there something specific I should do, is it a specific version I need, has this feature been removed?

In May 2020, an update to Microsoft Edge added Surf, a browser game where players control a surfer attempting to evade obstacles and collect powerups. Similar to Google Chrome's Dinosaur Game, Surf is accessible from the browser's offline error page and can also be accessed by entering edge://surf into the address bar. The game features three game modes (classic, time trial, and slalom), has character customization, and supports keyboard, mouse, touch, and gamepad controls.[47][48] Its gameplay has been compared to the 1991 Microsoft video game SkiFree.[49][50]

You can fix some issues by updating to dev build of edge as well even if you do not use it some apps use webviews2 which is basically just chromium, no need to disable MPO unless you have really bad case of blackscreens and other issues.

Both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge Chrome crash instantly when they are launched and display the Aw Snap / This Page is having a problem error respectively, even when I launch the about:chrome page.

This weekend, Twitter user Gabriel Landau enjoyed his first few hours with a Windows 10 laptop by doing this exact thing (video in Twitter link). The top result for his "download chrome" search via Edge looked ordinary enough. Except that when he clicked it the resulting domain was "GoogleOnline2018.com." The fake site isn't an exact copy of Google's own Chrome landing page, but looks genuine enough to fool people. The download itself is called "ChromeSetup.exe," but examining the digital signature reveals "Alpha Criteria Ltd." That's definitely not Google.

Having said that, testing policies often require regression testing to be performed against the current publicly available browsers. In this case, you can opt into one of the stable channels, "chrome" or "msedge".

I currently have it as an App Layer (Elastic) along with seperate App Layers for Chrome and Firefox. Problems can arise with User Layers if the users are able to update and then a subsequent layer update is made, the msedge exe references the wrong version folder. User Layer repair does not resolve the issue when this occurs.

This is actually getting pretty ugly now, with the latest Windows 10 updates now add Edge into the OS Layer and uninstall is not supported (only presented option is repair presumably as legacy edge is also removed) this means everytime it gets reinstalled you need to rip it out via command line.

User has to download the DigiCert PKI Client chrome extension available at DigiCert Authentication Client Extension - Chrome Web Store (google.com), install it on Microsoft Edge Browser and re-try the enrolment by following the below steps:

Open Edge, click the three dots in the top right corner to show the menu, click Settings and then select Profiles in the sidebar. Alternatively, enter edge://settings/profiles into the URL box. Look down the list of items and select Import browser data.

I use both extensions on two different devices, one on windows 10 with edge browser and one on windows 11 with chrome and since the last days the extensions freezes on both devices (so it cant be a coincidence) after putting the password in. I have nothing changed. My nextcloud server wasnt updated or anything was changed since 2 weeks. Its probably the last Browser update on version 104 which messed something up.
I tried it on my other pc before and after the update, and after the update of chrome the bug occured again.

This seems to be this bug: Crashes/unresponsive since Chrome 104 Issue #230 marius-wieschollek/passwords-webextension GitHub . A developer version of the extension with a fix should be available in the chrome web store soon.

I have 16gb RAM. My RAM--if you mean the memory tab--only goes wildly above 60% in the screenshots while streaming on edge with browser guard active. It keeps climbing and climbing. At the moment with all the exact same things open as the previous screenshots except Edge, it's sitting at 59%. If this was a generalised memory leak, how come it only happens when streaming on edge with browser guard active? Shouldn't it have more affects for other programmes too? (These are genuine questions, I'm just trying to learn about it all too) I've streamed Disney+ and Netflix on Chrome before I started using Edge and didn't run into this issue.

I had a similar issue. It was failing with DNS errors. There are experimental features that are enabled in the recent release of Chrome. Disabling the "Experimental QUIC protocol", seems to resolve the issue. Within Chrome, navigate to chrome://flags. search for "Experimental QUIC protocol" and disable it, and reload Chrome. I hope that helps.

In versions of Google Chrome (chrome.exe) and versions of Microsoft Edge Chromium, Microsoft's Code Integrity feature is enabled. SEP Application Control technology is not compatible with this feature in Chrome/Chromium.
