Hi All,

Can someone explain about Set Peer Bandwidth and Set Buffer Length messages?
I have gone through the rtmp specification but i did not come to know the objective/purpose of these messages.
As per rtmp specification, The client sends Set Buffer Length event/message to inform server of  the buffer size. But this is not mentioned how it will be helpful for server. What server will do with the size received in this message?

In Similar way, Use case of Set Peer Bandwidth message/event is not given in specification.

Please guide me by telling the objective/use case of above given messages.

Thanks in Advance

No, right now i am not doing any implementation. I am just reading specification to understand the protocol.
For knowledge sake i need to know the ideal size for Set Peer Bandwidth and Window Acknowledgement Size message.
How server or client would calculate the output bandwidth of peer?

It seems you are doing an implementation of the protocol, have you managed to send video ?

For the window size I saw some implementations that set this size to a big value so they won’t send an acknowledgment very often…

Thanks for the reply.
I have already gone the adobe rtmp specification.
But this is not mention there that how to calculate Peer's output bandwidth?
What will be the ideal size of Window Acknowledgement Size?
