Hello RVCC!

Last night I met with a fantastic focus group of Middle School Students and parents with a focus on  recruitment for the Middle School age in schools.  The conversation was full of insights and ideas and wonderful information that my staff and I can use moving forward. One of the many great ideas that came from the meeting was the idea and suggestion that we need a Social Media Committee.    I love the way that one sweet Mom said that my Facebook posts are lovely and we want to keep them, but that there is so much more we could do and we’ll have people in the RVCC who can help!

 

I know that there are many more children out there who love to sing, who would benefit from the friendships, fun, team building, and diligent music instruction in the RVCC.  With the schools no longer allowing flyers to be sent home with students, and our RVCC budget being very slim, we need a boost for recruitment and for the whole Roanoke Valley to know about our beautiful program. 

 

So…..is Social Media your thing?  ☺

**As you’ve probably gathered, it’s not one of my strengths, ☺ and we have a very small staff and no money in the budget for a designated Social Media person. 

 

Here is what we’re hoping for in a Social Media Committee:

·       A manager to coordinate efforts

·       Kirsti (RVCC Operations Manager) can supply content of event information, pictures, videos

·       Several members to post and encourage others to share

·       People with great ideas to help us get going!
