Can you tell us if =and uses =and2? I would assume it would, or else why would you have us write =and2? But I don't see how it could use it, since =and2 needs two arguments, but =and could only have one.

Yes

Exactly.

=and could also have no arguments.

=and doesn't ALWAYS use =and2, but it does most of the time.
