Hi all,

Recall that we discussed extending project #7's deadline, but decided that the competition made it problematic to push the deadline back until Monday. Instead, I am now pushing the deadline back one day until Saturday. To be clear, if you submit by Saturday night, you will be eligible to be in the competition. That being said, if you submit late on Saturday night, you may not get a gradesheet back from Chris in time for Monday; but you won't be counted late, and your results will count in the competition.

One more note: if you have already submitted and are planning to take advantage of the extra time to revise your submission, PLEASE NOTIFY CHRIS ASAP so that he does not waste time grading your current submission. If Chris does not hear from you, he may to grade your submission tomorrow.

Regards,
--Paul

Hey Paul,
I had turned my project in on Thursday assuming I had optimal results because I hadn't seen anyone elses at the time, and my solutions were returning under the time constraint. Since then I have seen some more optimal solutions from others on the google group and looked back in my code. I have to assume that the column and rows method is not a true lower bound or I have some other mistake made in there somewhere, because I can produce the optimal answers in the minute time by multiplying my bssf by 1.7 when pruning. I checked to see if there was something wrong with the distance traveled, and I even tried doing only the row reduction but both returned the same answer I had before. Do you feel it would be worth revising at this point considering I had turned it in on Thursday?  I'm pretty with the minute time limit I'm not qualified for the competition anyway. And I have a lot to deal with with FAT (file allocation table) and an oral presentation from 345.
