June is coming up! As you all probably know, it is the second greatest month of the year because it is the month before July. What better way to enrich your June than to volunteer to present?! Please let us know if you have something you're willing to share. I'm still cooking up Core Audio for Total n00bs, so I can be ready.

One thing to consider for June is that it will be right in the middle of WWDC.

I'll be at the conference, so I can't present. But I wonder if people would enjoy an overview of the things announced in the keynote (and thus not NDA'd), and maybe some group conversation about how the new shiny could be used?

Then again, maybe everyone will be sick of WWDC news by then, and will just want a regular old CocoaHeads.

Anyway, it's worth considering.

For July or August it would be nice to watch a WWDC video or two (assuming the videos get released fairly soon) and discuss.

Someone at NSCoder's Night suggested a WWDC marathon/pajama party…

But good point, I didn't consider the WWDC timing. How many people not attending WWDC would still like to hold our regular monthly meet up?

Still feeling crushed by not having a ticket.....

There's a part of me that thinks we should consider postponing a week,
and those who attended WWDC can share with us (everyone's NDA'd,
right?). I also think that for students who don't know what it is, or
what the experience is like, they could get a sense why it's so
popular.

pajamas...right.......I knew I shouldn't have thrown away those
moosehead slippers....

I'm not sure we can count on everyone being NDA'd. I think there's also a WWDC-specific NDA, which covers everything outside of the keynote, which includes all other sessions and any pre-release software distributed at WWDC. As soon as the session videos are released, anyone with a registered Apple Developer Account can see them, which effectively kills the NDA on the sessions. But there would still be a block on actually demonstrating pre-release software, other than what's in the session videos.

Now, it may be the case that they get the videos out that fast. They've been taking roughly 2 weeks for the past couple years, so I wouldn't expect it to be significantly faster than that.

I think it would be definitely fun to talk about the new stuff, and the keynote presentation may provide enough fodder for the June meeting, since most of the interesting stuff is highlighted there. But I don't think we can get around the NDA for the June meeting.
