Scent from HVAC Return Vents on Residential Hallways

Good afternoon everyone,

We got a few reports of an odor coming from the HVAC return vents on the residential hallways. While it is smelly, it is not gas or anything of that nature. It's likely a filter or another part of the HVAC unit that needs to be replaced.

We will have a vendor out to inspect the units on Monday, or the next available business day. We did also just have Comfort Cooling working on the units on Thursday and Friday, to increase their heat set points for the stretch of cold weather.

That being said, I never want to discourage anyone from reporting a potential emergency, so if you feel like you smell gas you can contact Washington Gas: 844-927-4427.
