Friday Update + Snow Removal Information

Good afternoon Byron Community,

We're hoping for the least, but prepared for the worst! Here is a list of updates and reminders for the forecasted weather:

Snow Removal

Our snow plowing contractor will be onsite on Sunday as needed to plow the drive lane and courtyard. We will also have workers shoveling the sidewalks and loading dock if needed. 

There is a good chance that P3 of the Above-Ground Parking Garage may be closed depending on how much snow/ice we get. Management will provide an update if we need to close it. 

Snow & Freezing Weather Reminders

Now is a great time to be neighborly! Check in on your neighbors, especially those who live alone. 

Because the weather will be below 32 degrees all next week, pipes are prone to freezing. Please make sure your units stay above 55 degrees. If you do have a pipe burst, shut off your unit's water using the water shut-off handle, which is generally located in the HVAC closet. 

Once the water is shut off, contact a Board member so they can reach management and we can begin sending vendors for remediation. 

Power Outage
If the power goes out, the back-up generator will automatically come on. However, the back-up generator only powers a few things such as select emergency lights, one elevator, the key fob access system, and the fire & sprinkler system. The Building HVAC system and Hot water will not be functioning in the event of a power outage. 

We hope the power doesn't go out! But stay prepared by keeping your phones and other devices fully charged.
