Great bunch of pix and what an improvement those folks made Saturday!

I'm curious, has any consideration ever been made to getting the remaining parts of the turbine out of, and away from the water to prevent any further deterioration?

David,
There are others who can give a better answer, but I believe some of the easily moved parts were removed years ago, and are in the possession of the city.

David,
Our Public Works Department attempted to pull out the turbine last
week. They used a large High Lift and a ¾” steel cable. The cable
snapped and the turbine didn’t budge. It is still in it's original
location from years ago. It must be mounted in a deep concrete bed.
I’m sure we’ll grab the bevel gear and shaft but the turbine might
have to stay where it is.
