The 20th Annual Big River clean-up will take place on Saturday August
25th. Our Clean Stream Team will be meeting at the Byrnes Mill Park
parking lot at 8:30AM. We will shuttle our boats and canoes to the put-
in point at Rockford Beach at the Hwy. W Bridge Big River access. The
team will float down to the take-out point at Byrnes Mill Park. Along
the way we will be collecting tires, cans, bottles, trash and anything
else that doesn’t belong in the river. We’ll float a little over a
mile and a half. The float takes about 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
We are looking for additional volunteers and boats. Jon boats work
the best but canoes are also very useful. This is a wonderful
opportunity to make a difference in your community and to meet other
concerned citizens like yourself. We will have T-shirts and gloves
for the ones who register early. If you are interested in helping out
call me at 636-677-4196. Wear clothing you can get wet and dirty.
Bring drinking water and sun screen. You may be surprised how pretty
the Big River can be.

See pictures of earlier clean-ups on the Byrnes Mill web site.

The original posting for the Operation Clean Stream has an incorrect date. The correct date is August 25th 2012. Sorry for the error.

Jim~

As usual, I have a Grumman canoe anyone is welcome to borrow. Did you
sent this to Larry to put on our website and in the newsletter? Another
idea is to put it on the montowese facebook page.
