National Night Out is a nationwide crime and drug prevention
event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. Besides strengthening
neighborhood spirit, this event is designed to heighten crime and drug
awareness.
The Byrnes Mill Police Department will be supporting this annual event at the Byrnes
Mill City Park on Tuesday, August 7th, from 5 PM to 9 PM. There will
be a DJ, BBQ, hot dogs, soda, water, toys and prizes for the kids and free gun
locks for home safety. Free Child ID kits will be available so you can save
your children’s fingerprints and photos. These kits stay with the parents.
There will be various types of
Emergency and Service Vehicles on display to view. There will even be a
Military Half-Track and a race car.
You’ll have an opportunity to cool off a few of the Byrnes Mill Policemen in a dunking
booth, donated by Highway 30 Towing. This is a great opportunity to get the
family together, come to the park to get a bite to eat and meet your neighbors,
Police Officers, local emergency personnel and City officials.
A very big thanks to Brian at COMPANY B BAR-B-QUE for graciously cooking the
food and supplying the always delicious BBQ.
Hope to see you there!
