I just drove by the park to see what a group of over twenty volunteers
got done today around the old foundation. It looks just great! The
foundation is completely visable and it is possible to view the river
now. I understand that the group included BM residents, business
owners, and alderpersons. It is amazing what can get accomplished with
a few hours of volunteer time.
For anyone who has not been by the park recently the public works
department and some volunteers have really improved things. Enlarged
and improved parking lots at both the pavilion and the lower park, new
guard rail going from the lower park to the meadow,a new gravel road
going down to the river from the lower park, a nice mulched path going
from the pavilion to the Hagemeister House, a nice guard rail edging
the parking lot by the pavilion, lots of brush clearing and steps going
from the new mulch path to the Hagemeister House.
I even heard a rumor that one of the aldermen is cutting hiking paths
in his free time to be mulched in the future
As a citizen of Byrnes Mill I would like to thank all involved.
