"I loved being a back-up singer, I think it's a really great job," she insists. "I was lucky enough to have the time to be working on my own stuff, and I just wanted to feel ready when it came to that point of doing my own thing."
Thanks for another good, deep read. I always love a list! The chicken and Sade combo sounded perfect - she'll always be on my high school soundtrack. That photo of the girls from Baltimore was my favorite part - thanks for sharing their sweetness. Looking forward to seeing pics from LDN plus your report of course!!
These moments, and so many others, have made me feel so loved, but they’ve also made me wonder if this is it, if these are the sweetest parts of life. Does it get any better than just loving and being loved by your friends and chosen family? Should we be seeking more than this? Are we missing it by searching for everything but what we have right in front of us?
I went see Asteroid City and I didn’t enjoy it one bit. All the performances were A+ but the writing and the story fell flat, which is rare for a Wes Anderson film. It was, as you’d suspect, another gorgeous offering in his visual language, but that wasn’t enough to save this boring ass film that went nowhere, quite slowly. I also went to see Past Lives, which was a somber stunner of a film. I know the pain of long term unrequited love, and I felt torn apart for every person in the film. The script was so well written and what a gifted cast. I love how expertly they moved through time without hitting us over the head with technological evolution.
