All,

How difficult would it be to add a print function to the trip planner.  Right now I just tell everyone to take a screenshot or copy the cue sheet of directions but a print function would be more self explanatory.  Just curious if any thought has been put into it.

I definitely second this idea. The print button on the browser is fine
for a route with only a few turns, but if you have to use the scroll
bar to see all the turns in the directions list, you can't print them
the "normal" way.

A quick sugggestion is to have a print style sheet that changes the
"result" div style from "overflow: auto" to "overflow: visible." A
print style sheet is done by specifiying media="print" when linking to
an external sheet. See http://www.alistapart.com/articles/goingtoprint/
for info on print style sheets. I am not sure if changing auto to
visible will fix the problem but I do think that a print style sheet
may end up leading to a good solution.

By popular demand, a link to make Trip Planner results more
print-friendly has been added. Look for it under the address/route
input fields. Let us know how it works.

Note: requires JavaScript.

I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! That's great! I like the new option for "safer"
vs "normal" route for Portland, too. I haven't had a chance to check
the recommended routes to see how well they work.

I still love you guys, but...
it works fine in Internet Explorer, but something about the way Firefox
process the page makes it only want to be one page, cutting off
anything past the bottom of the first page. I can shrink everything
down, and have it all on one page in smaller print, just can't go over
1 page. For those familiar with Firefox and extensions, using
extension IE Tab, which processes pages inside Firefox using the
Internet Explorer engine, does allow all the pages to print.
