First! (Ha ha.)

Last Thursday after the PAGIS presentation, some of us talked about
creating a list of sub-projects with the intent that doing so would
help organize the project, facilitate communication, and make it
easier for other people to get involved (or something along those
lines). So, it's only taken a week, but I've finally created the list.
It can be viewed here:

http://trac.bycycle.org/tripplanner/wiki/SubProjects

The list there is a rough draft, so feel free to make suggestions and
changes. If you feel like it, you can add yourself to the Project
Members page:

http://trac.bycycle.org/tripplanner/wiki/ProjectMembers

You can even go a step further and create a page with a little more
info about yourself, which may seem a little hoaky at first, but I
think makes things a little more interesting (not that I've created
such a page yet).

If you feel like you're not really a project member, please feel free
to jump in somewhere. I'll admit that it's difficult trying to
coordinate this effort, so any ideas or assistance are welcome (and
elbow grease, too). If jumping in doesn't seem to be working, you can
try some kind of brute force method (?).

One last thing. Whenever possible, please communicate about the
project through this list, even if it seems like what you're
discussing won't be relevant to people working on different stuff.
This will create an all-in-one-place log of what's going on and help
keep everyone "on the same page".

OK, that's all.

TTFN,

That is a great list (the SubProjects one). I am glad to see
Organization is at the top.

I see myself working in some but not all areas. It would be helpful
to know where everyone else sees themselves fitting in. I guess that
would be on the ProjectMembers page. OK, I'm jumping in... who's next?

Thanks for jumping in, Paul. Look at that[1] everyone, Paul jumped in. W00t!

I don't know if anyone noticed, but the Trac site was down for a few
days. We were trying a new web host and they didn't work out. We're
now trying yet another web host, and they seem much better so far.

It would be neat if Jack or whoever could have a mobile GIS with them when
riding, to update data directly in a mobile version of the database. I
developed a project for the Water Burueau last year where we used ArcPad on
Trimble units and it was clear that the ability to edit in the field with
GPS is quite advantageous.

This is a step towards that...
