kate spade new york 'cause a stir' stone pendant necklaceThe color is very true to the website (I purchased Royal Blue). I bought it to match the square stud earrings and makes for a wonderful little set! The gold chain looks like great quality and not cheap at all. The stone is very nice, not cheap looking. typical KS intent. Keep in mind the drop, its kind of short, almost like a choker but that's the intended style. There is however an extender. It sits very comfortably and brings great pop to any outfit. "Stands up to kate spades quality. The gem was beautiful and true to color and it shipped quickly! kate spade new york 'cause a stir' stone pendant necklace Reviews"I purchased this item in tortoise. I have several pairs of the small square stud earrings; the stone on these is the same size and shape. Like the earrings, it's a good "midway" piece. The stone is large enough to catch the eye; it's not dainty. But the necklace is not so large as to overpower. It's much less heavy and large than many current drape necklaces and a nice alternative to the long station necklace that are popular now, as it draws the eye up, closer to the face.
As other commenters have noticed, the necklace sits higher than some. This is great for me; I have a smaller neck and can't usually buy costume jewelry, as the chain material doesn't allow for shortening. For those with "regular" size necks, there is an extender.
I think the chain is okay; no one is going to mistake it
for real gold or vermiel. Thus my four star rating. I expect the finish to last a reasonable period but not forever; it's appropriate to the price. I ordered mine online and it arrived with a small knot in the chain, which I was able to untangle. Because the chain is light, I store it on a loop hanger to make sure it doesn't reknot. If I was traveling with it, I'd wrap it securely around something to prevent kinking. I'm wearing it with the square studs in a different, brighter color right now. They look well together. I think wearing both pieces in tortoise would look a bit bland." |
