Greetings Amy!
I just knew you were going to ask that dreaded question of how many folks from AVA clubs we can expect. What is the pentalty, counsellor, if my estimate turns out to be way off? Any estimate is a shot in the dark. We have over 60 local club members. Hopefully 25 of them will show up. We'll be lucky if 10 show up from other Southeast Region clubs; but you never know. The American Wanderer (American Volkssport Association's bimonthly publication that goes out to clubs across the country) is going to print my press release in the next issue that comes out in November. Volkswalkers from six other states attended our event at Frozen Head State Park a couple of years ago, some from as far away as the west coast. Of course this short notice might be too late for people to make travel plans. We really hope that advertising will attract locals who have never done a volksmarch, to get them interested in this fun sport. In summary, my wild guess is 25 local club members, 10 from other clubs, and hopefully 10 from the local general public, for a TOTAL of 45 people doing the walk.

Subject: Re: Volksmarch FlyerHey Jerrie! Thanks so much for the flier, I forwarded it on to Bearden Beer Market and Earth Fare, and printed out copies for the monthly Bike Walk Knoxville Meeting. Can you give an idea of an estimated number of folks from AVA clubs we can expect to show up?-Amy
Sent from my iPhoneAmy,
Here is David's volksmarch flyer, to which I have added the pizza/beer info you gave me. It is designed to be printed on one sheet, both sides, and then folded so that the Wanderers' logo is on the front. I have sent it to the southeast region volkswalking clubs by e-mail. We typically print some flyers like these to place around town; but I haven't done that yet since David said that Bike/Walk and Earthfare (?) would handle local publicity. Let me know if you want us to print and distribute some of them, or maybe you all want to do your own flyer. This one is sort of geared toward people who are already volkswalkers; so you all might want to come up with something for the general public?
