My apologies for the spam today. Despite best efforts some spammers manage to sneak in.
This group was established to investigate the truth behind claims in a book about the BWB strategy, and during the past years we have accomplished that purpose. The group further explored collars and other advanced option strategies. I hope the members are satisfied with these accomplishments.
If the members so desire, now we need to take the group in new directions. Most of our 700 members are intermediate to advanced option traders, so there are many possibilities about what to investigate and discuss. Please feel free to post your ideas to the group or email me privately. If some members are interested in having an administrative function, we also need another moderator or two.

There is nothing inherently magical about about the BrokenWingButterfly.
It is simply a combination of a butterfly and a vertical spread; where typically the trader is trying to finance the purchase of the Butterfly with the sale of the vertical spread.
Consequently there is an unlimited number of variations of the BWB; that can usually be dissected into a relatively simple component parts.
Michael Catalico and Charles Cottle have provided numerous examples of using BWB's in both this and other forums either as Opening Trades or as Adjustments.
If it is good enough for those guys, then it gets my attention, and I frequently use BWB's as an Adjustment; primarily to roll my short units in the direction of the market direction and the finance the roll by selling some premium.
Cheers
James
