Dear Friends,
1for3’s annual Walk for Water 5K will take place in May 2021. Join us in this empowering movement for change!
Water and land availability for Palestinians in the West Bank is under critical threat. Throughout the area, Israeli military and civil authorities are continuing to annex Palestinian agricultural land in Area C, which is the largest portion of the West Bank. In this area is also where a large amount of ground water and agricultural land is located. The pandemic has deteriorated the already difficult humanitarian situation facing all Palestinians in the Occupied Territories, but especially those residing in refugee camps. As we prepare for the Walk for Water 5K in May, we will be examining these and other important concerns related to water through webinars and information updates.
We walk to support Palestinian refugee communities as they seek to better their lives at the intersection of Water - Food - Health – Education. For the last 5 years, the Walk for Water 5K has brought together faith groups, individuals, and advocates to support water for Palestinian refugees. In 2021, we want you to be a part of it.
Due to the pandemic, the walk will be socially distanced, and done by individuals during the month of May. Each walker will be able to document their role in supporting water for Palestinian refugees as they walk in their own way and at their own time. Social media will help to bring us together, so while we will be walking separately our voices will be heard as one.
For more information on the walk, what funds raised by it will support, and how to set up your own team of walkers, go to: https://give.classy.org/Walk4Water5k2021
Water is for all of us, and your support of the walk can make that a reality in the lives of thousands of refugees.
Stay safe and Happy 2021.
