Every year, as parent, of course even the kids themselves; we all get excited when MSCE results are out. Then after some weeks the morale fades slowly into anxiety, then pooooooooh! All morale vanishes. One of the reasons is that it takes TOO LONG for these
young minds to show case what they can do with college/university materials. It takes a year to have these students know their university results, and in most cases it is a psychological torture for the young minds to wait for that long only to be disappointed
when their names are not on the university list.
What can the universities do to sort out this challenge?
What can the Ministry of Education do to correct this and bring back the glory of fresh School Leavers into the university?
What can the NCHE do to facilitate this so that these prospective university students are enrolled into the university within the shortest period of time after the MSCE results?
As a country we need to work towards making changes that will fresh brains to our Higher Education system. Waiting for a year idling is too long for these teenagers.
Remember, Not everyone can afford to make the kids busy with computer lessons while they wait for the results. I do not doubt that by the time these students are called out to go to the university, their morale has dwindled greatly.
I hope that the delinking will help to solve this challenge, where students can enrol into the university earlier than a year.
