PHILOSOPHY OF TALULAR

TALULAR is a simple philosophy that embraces the twin concerns of Teaching and Learning in the classroom.The nature and quality of Teaching and Learning is greatly influenced by the resources available.

The word TALULAR was coined by Andy Byres in 1994 instead of Teaching and Learning Materials.He argues that the word ''materials'' is no longer enough to describe what can be used in the classroom.In other words,it is not fully encapsulate the philosophy of TALULAR.The word ''Resources'' should replace ''Materials'' as a more appropriate terminology.

The acronym TALULAR stands 4 Teaching and Learning Using Locally Available Resources.Locally available resources refers to what is readily available in the environment and can be used to promote effective Teaching and Learning in the classroom.

Mr.Gibson Zembeni is an expert in TALULAR production and usage.He is the 1st.implementor of TALULAR and has trained many teachers in TALULAR skills.He is a great man.

I do believe that,a classroom without TALULAR resources is like a referal hospital without essential drugs.
