Join the webinar Regional Dialogues for SDG 4:
Regional Consultation for the Prevention of Violence in Education
On 26 July 2024, the
Regional consultation for the prevention of violence in education session will be held, organised by UNESCO in coordination with the Member States of Latin America and the Caribbean.
This virtual event will take place in a webinar format and will feature interpretation in both English and Spanish, allowing for the participation of a broad audience interested in the topic.
The webinar will address the issue of violence in education, a crucial topic for the Latin American and Caribbean region, the most violent in the world. The session will include welcome remarks from Ministers of Education and a panel
discussion with regional experts, who will explore emerging forms of violence and strategies to address them.
The aim of this consultation is to develop a shared vision and a roadmap to prevent and address violence in the education sector. It seeks to stimulate discussion on alternative approaches and strengthen collaboration among countries in the region to protect
the right to education and ensure violence-free educational spaces.
The event is aimed at educators, policymakers, non-governmental organisations, and anyone interested in developing effective strategies to combat violence in the education sector.
