Burhani Women’s Association Quarterly Meeting (with raza from Janab Aamil Saheb)
Hijri: 1436, 12th Shaban al Karim

Attendees: Bhabhisaab, Munira Bahen Miyaziwala, Maryam Bahen Jamali, Zainab Bahen Zafar, Rashida Bahen Ghiya, Sakina Bahen Nagarwala, Rashida Bahen Ronaque, and Alefiya Bahen Kantawala
Meeting Recap:
I. Bhabhisaab began the meeting with discussing the importance of having compassion for the jamaat and concern for others and that being one of the fundamentals of Burhani Womens, and then Munira Bahen shared a story of a farmer sharing his award winning seed with his neighbors.
II. BWA’s important role in Faiz was discussed extensively, especially in regards to roti making. In regards to making roti, two points were stressed (1) Importance and umeed of Aaliqadr Maula (tus) that baheno make roti and (2) not only do baheno make roti, but in a way that encourages other baheno to perform this khidmat (group roti making).
a. It was decided that it’s important to continue to outreach to baheno and explain that faiz and roti making are Moula’s (TUS) khushi and should not be taken lightly.
b. Baheno should be making more roti and not limiting the number of roti they are making.
- It was decided that a way to facilitate this is to have baheno form groups of at least two or three baheno and make roti together. Groups were discussed, and baheno will be contacted to make groups.
- Baheno who attended the meeting committed to increasing the number of roti they are already making.
- It was also discussed that once a month (with Aamil Saheb’s raza) Jumua ni namaaz will be held at the markaz, and roti making will happen prior to namaaz. This would be so that it would encourage baheno to attend namaz while also coming for roti making.
- Along with other baheno helping to reach out, Rashida Bahen Ghiya will help Maryam Bahen in coordinating roti making.
III. BWA khidmat during Sherullah was discussed in detail.
a. The silat for this year has been decided and will be ordered from India.
b. Bihori ni namaaz along with sihori will be held at the markaz Thursday – Saturday.
- Baheno were encouraged to attend Bihori during Ibadat nu mahino.
- It was decided that any BWA members attending namaaz should assist niyaz committee in jamarwanu by helping set up thaals, safra, heating jaman, etc.
c. Mehndi Program before Laylatul Qadr (Aqa Moula’s TUS Milad) will be organized by Group B. Bhabhisaab said there should be two to three designated baheno to put mehndi on other baheno.
d. Although Group B will be leading the planning of 30 mi raat sihori, all groups will be actively involved.
e. Some ideas for Eidee for farzando were brainstormed but nothing was confirmed. Bhabhisaab will follow up with madrasa committee as to whether Madrasa Najmiyah will help contribute to Eidee. Group C will take charge of Eidee.
f. A fun Eid event for only BWA members will planned by Group B.
IV. There will be more inclusion of fun activities for the coming year.
a. Each group should think of and organize a fun event.
b. BWA could organize a fun workshop to learn how to do something crafty/creative.
c. After some discussion, it was decided that the next BWA quarterly meeting will be held on Friday, September 11, at 7:30 pm (28th Zil-Qaad) at a restaurant.
V. Munira Bahen talked about Aqa Moula’s (TUS) vision of 12 Umoor and shared some of her ideas.
a. For health, she talked about BWA having a seminar on Acupuncture, and she knows someone willing to conduct the seminar.
b. For taalim, she talked about organizing a Summer Camp for madrasa farzando.
c. For faiz, we could recognize baheno monthly for their cooking khidmat and roti making. An idea discussed was to have baheno roti making groups compete to making the most roti in a month.
d. For Quran Hifz, we could practice a surat at each BWA meeting, and Zainab Bahen Zafar mentioned that she along with M. Abdeali Bhai and Sakina Bahen Nagarwala are thinking of having a Quran completion for our jamaat.
e. For Public Relations, BWA should reach out more to jamaat members.
-offer assistance or find counseling services for those who may be having family or financial issues.
- Munira Bahen also discussed the idea of having an outdoor event "Anand Mehla” where BWA sells stalls to mumineen, muminaat, and farzando so they can sell items and/or have activities. The end of August may be a good time to have this. Baheno were very excited about this idea. It was discussed that we would need to have a planning session during Ramazan to put this together.
VI. Zainab Bahen passed out forms for the upcoming year which have to be filled out by all members. These forms are due on Friday, June 26, (10th Ramadhan).
The meeting was adjourned, and Sakina Bahen presented a wonderful presentation on paper quilling. Other baheno then got the opportunity to do quilling.
