Respected scholars, Namaskar!

Takram Shakrasya durlabham is  part of some subhashitam.

Now Shakra means Indra. So what the subhashitam is saying about Indra?
Does shakra mean churning stick or butter accumulating near the churning stick?

Please kindly explain posting the whole subhashitam if possible.
Thanks. N.R.Joshi

भोजनान्ते च किं पेयं जयन्तः कस्य वै सुतः ।
कथं विष्णुपदं प्रोक्तं तक्रं शक्रस्य दुर्लभम् ॥१०॥

It is not a regular सुभाषित, but a sort of riddle. In the verse, three questions are asked in three पाद-s and the fourth पाद contains the reply contains the three words respectively for the qustions. But they are not mutually related.

भोजनान्ते च किं पेयम्?  तक्रम्
जयन्तः कस्य वै सुतः ? शक्रस्य
कथं विष्णुपदं प्रोक्तम्? दुर्लभम्

The questions and answers are simple and need not any translation.

This and similar ones are found in the सुभाषितरत्नभाण्दागार if Kashinath Sharma, page 196, verse No.5.

The translation provided in some website as follows:

"This is a special one: the last pada / line answers all the questions in the three padas/lines.. but at the same time makes wierd sentences.what is to be had at the end of meal ? ( curds )whose son is jayantha? ( Lord Indra )How does one attain vishnu padam? ( not available )"

The final line combines all these and says "Curds are not available to Lord Indra" - which is wierd that Indra being the king of Gods, is deprived of Curds..

तक्र is not curd, but butter-milk. शक्र means Indra. The sentence butter milk is not available to Indra.  The solution is Gods drink nectar (अमृत) and do not use milk or butter milk, which is availble on earth.
