Prof. Bal Ram Singh not helping in providing details of 575+ corroborations claimed by Oak

Respected members,

I had sought help of Prof. Bal Ram Singh, Director of Institute of Advanced Sciences. It is a private institute that has given Adjunct Professorship to Oak. I asked Prof. Bal Ram Singh to make public the exact details of 575+ corroborations that Oak claims from the Rāmāyaṇa. Oak has not made the list public even after multiple requests. I expected Prof. Bal Ram Singh to address this issue as manufacturing of data is a serious research ethics violation. My interactions with Prof. Bal Ram Singh show that he is not interested in making the exact details of 575+ corroborations public or confirming that Oak’s claims are fake. He just wants the issue to go away.

It is fair enough on the part of Prof. Bal Ram Singh to say whatever he said about twitter on twitter. 

He admits that he is not an expert in the field. 

He is ready to arrange a proper forum where things can be proved or disproved.

Dear Prof. Nagaraj,

I beg to differ. Prof. Bal Ram Singh  is bound to investigate the matter and make it public as the Director of the Institute. This is not a conference issue. It is a research integrity issue. Oak has been making this statement for years. You tell me why he is not putting the exact details of 575+ corroborations in the public domain?

Dear Prof. Nagaraj,

Prof. Bal Ram Singh has the duty to investigate matters of research ethics as the Director of the Institute.

 

The question still is why is Oak not making it public even after reading all these correspondences. He has made the claim hundreds of times. It should be in a file ready to upload. 

Do you see that he is making people believe that Lord Rama was born in Sharad season without a single piece of evidence? Did you read my article Part 8? He has just made up that Chaitra Shuddha Navami occurred on 17 December, 12209 BCE. I challenge him to prove it. Then he has made up a whole calendar of Ramayana without any basis.

We have a serious problem here that needs to be addressed.

Nilesh Oak interacts in this list.  He should be aware of

Dr Roy's questions and his series of critical essays.

These can be settled with a scholarly decorum.

I appreciate Dr Balram Singh suggesting a direct dialog.

To me, astronomical software dating with arbitrary reading

of the text is a useless exercise.

Dear Dr. Mishra

How is a reading arbitrary if it is all sourced from the same text?

Consistent is the word i would use.

Arbitrary is a word best used when some readings in a text are preferred over others to advance a personal narrative.

Why this objection to sw?

The sw attempts to model the night sky for dates in the past.

While it may not be suitable for irregular events its a good model to replicate motion of satellites....which are mostly regular.

There is an element of error given current understanding of axial tilt and its history but dont you think it gives something to work with and hopefully improve?

That is exactly how the the dating research has started more than a hundred years ago,

Regarding software, I would reserve my comments.

Calibrate them and you would discover.
