2nd Thomas C Burke Memorial symposium

Dear friends,

We successfully completed the "Panini and Grammar" Symposium last

weekend.  Professor Subrahmanyam Korada from Hyderabad and 

Professor Gerard Huet from Paris attended most of the sessions and

commented on the presentations.  Presentations came from Delhi, West Bengal,

Bangaluru, BHU, IIT Bombay,  Ruia College and Christ University.  There

was an analytic discussion on  धातु, समास, सन्धि, शब्द, रस, वाक्, and वेदांग.  

Good amount of time was spent in differentiating वर्ण from the phonemes in 

linguistic literature.  Professor Malhar Kulkarni from IIT Bombay and Prof Amba 

Kulkarni from University of Hyderabad attended part of the meeting.  We had 

forty registrations, twenty eight attended as a maximum number, fifteen remained

core on both days. Videos will be posted after being edited.
