Dr Rishi Rajpopat asked me to share his response to the review of his thesis by Sri Neelesh Bodas  that I shared on BVP list .

I went through the PDF. It seems that Dr. Rajpopat has attempted to resolve all my questions in one of the two ways - 

1) By rejecting the traditional interpretation of all the "problematic" sutras, and instead conveniently reinterpreting these sutras so that the counter-examples quoted by me are somehow answered by his algorithm. In some cases, he is vocal that he does not agree with the traditional interpretations. In some other cases, he silently reinterprets the sutras in a way that is favorable to him, without explicitly expressing disagreement with the traditional approach.

2) By arguing that "someone has fiddled with Ashtadhyayi sutra krama" because of which these counter-examples cannot be explained by his algorithm. He also proposes a "new sutra krama" with which these examples might fit in his system.

In my view, this is very immature. Moreover, this has no end - I might find 100 more counter-examples and Dr. Rajpopat will answer them by possibly reinterpreting or reordering a dozen more sutras. He might eventually come up with his new interpretation and reordering of all 4000 sutras also. None of this makes any sense to me - one cannot simply reinterpret or move a sutra to make an example work, without understanding the full implications of that action.

Anyway, the bottom line is that this should end somewhere and I am ending it from my side right now. I will offer no further comments on this topic.

As a layman I would say that if Dr.RajPopat has presented  a robust , consistent and simpler alternate way of interpreting Paninian Sutras to derive  all the subantas and tingantas in existing Sanskrit texts,he has eminently succeeded in his venture.

Since you , in spite of being a Sanskrit scholar yourself, took the role of a layman, we can not ask you to explain your position reflecting your study of the thesis and the reviews and response from the thesis writer to the review in depth.
