Dear Scholars,
        Namaste.
Recently I have come across frequent use of the terms "axiology, geopoetics and ethnopoetics" in a few Russian articles on literature. These terms are rather new to me.
Could you suggest some introductory article or book for me elucidating these terms?
        Thanks and regards

I have a book on Ethnopetics by an Israeli professor.

I could not find it on the web.

I will try to share the acan, in the forum or individually to you depending on the status of copyright.

Basically, it contains terms drawn from literary criticism and some from folk literary studies part of folkloristics proposing them to be universally applicable categories to all the world literatures, oral and written, folk, tribal  and classical, premodern and modern, elite and non-elite.

The idea seems to be a kind of socio-poetics or cultural poetics applicable to literature in general.

Thank you, sir, for very prompt reply.
In addition to the term "ethnopoetics", there are other two terms - "axiology" and "geopoetics".

BTW, I found the article "Axiology - Theory of Values" on jstor, but it is not convenient to read it on the website itself.

Best regards

https://www.definitions.net/definition/Ethnopoetics

ethnopoetics(Noun)

A poetical, linguistic and anthropological movement dealing with poetry written by, or in the style of, indigenous peoples.

Etymology: coined in 1968 by Jerome Rothenberg and George Quasha.

Ethnopoetics

Ethnopoetics is a method of recording text versions of oral poetry or narrative performances that uses poetic lines, verses, and stanzas to capture the formal, poetic performance elements which would otherwise be lost in the written texts. The goal of any ethnopoetic text is to show how the techniques of unique oral performers enhance the aesthetic value of their performances within their specific cultural contexts. Major contributors to ethnopoetic theory include Jerome Rothenberg, Dennis Tedlock, and Dell Hymes. Ethnopoetics is considered a subfield of ethnology, anthropology, folkloristics, stylistics, linguistics, and literature and translation studies.

Sir, thank you for your reply.

I wanted to translate a few works of some Ural writer from Russia. In this regard I selected Mamin-Sibiryak (1852-1912), who is supposed to be the pioneer in Ural literature.

I was reading Prof.O.V. Zyryanov's paper (in Russian) "Mamin-Sibiryak Literary Legacy and Prospects of Regional Literary Studies" (2012) whose Abstract is as follows:
'***********************************************************************
Abstract: The article observes the key areas of the research of Mamin Sibiryak’s body of literary works, i.e. literary method and axiology, geopoetics, genre system and the language skill of the outstanding Ural writer. The objects of the contemporary Mamin-Sibiryak studies are linked to the prospects of Ural Region literary studies.

Keywords: D.N. Mamin-Sibiryak, axiological system, literary method, regional literary studies.

'***********************************************************************

In some other paper related to this author I also came across the term ethnopoetics.

I was not aware of these three terms.

Axiology and Geopoetics are new to me too.

Axiology seems to be study of values, ethical values, aesthetic values etc.
