The Mundakopanişat belongs to the Atharvaveda, and hence is also called as Atharvaņopanişat, occupies a distinctive place within the Upaniṣadic corpus. Unlike several other Upaniṣads that are predominantly composed in prose, this text is characterized by a significant number of metrical passages, exhibiting refined prosody. This literary quality has contributed to its enduring appeal among students and scholars of philosophy.
The language of this Upaniṣad is relatively lucid and direct, avoiding excessive obscurity while remaining philosophically rich.
