नमः सर्वेभ्यः।

I'm pleased to announce the launch of a project I have been working on for the last few months: SanskritSahitya.com, a website (and mobile app) aimed at organizing all Sanskrit literature and associated information in a structuredeasily navigable, and easily searchable form.
sscom.png
A quick look at some of the features (many more in the pipeline)—
  • Structured navigation based on sargaadhyaayakaandashloka etc. with easily shareable pages
  • Vyakhya teeka, English translations etc. wherever available (will keep getting updated as more content is digitized and organized)
  • Chhanda tagging and chhanda analysis, and a glossary of chhandas along with details and singing examples.
  • Detailed padachheda where available
  • Searching across one or all texts, using both Devanagari and Romanized queries
  • Searching for shlokas matching a specific chhanda
The website supports full offline access, and can be installed as Android and iPhone app. Click here for detailed instructions.

It currently has the following texts, and many more will be added over time.

दृश्यकाव्यानि
अभिज्ञानशाकुन्तलम्

लक्षणग्रन्थाः
नाट्यशास्त्रम् [Currently only a few अध्यायाः]

Hope that this site proves to be useful to students, teachers, and ultimately, lovers of Sanskrit Literature. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please submit them using this form.

Credits
  • The website has been developed using the same tech stack as ashtadhyayi.com built by Shri Neelesh Bodas. He also provided a lot of feedback and guidance during the development process
  • The texts, commentaries / translations, and analyses have been obtained from a variety of sources, listed in detail at https://sanskritsahitya.com/credits

The attempt is commendable.
Proof-reading lapses must be rectified.

Beautiful web-site. Hearty congrats. There must be a note-space where spelling inaccuracies are pointed out by readers, which can be made use of by the administrator. Links to Mallinatha and similar commentaries are needed.

Murthy

Dear Anktariksha Ji,

I wanted to express my appreciation for your hard work on sanskritsahitya.com. It's a fantastic resource for Sanskrit literature enthusiasts like myself. I have a few suggestions to further improve the site's functionality, but overall, I'm grateful for your dedication to promoting Sanskrit culture. Only important points are included here.

1. Reading Progress Bar: Implement a reading progress bar with a percentage indicator to give users a sense of how much of the text they have read and how much is remaining. This can enhance the reading experience and help users track their progress.

2. Comment Box: Add a comment box or a discussion forum where users can share their thoughts, ask questions, and engage with each other about the texts and topics on the website. This fosters community interaction and can enrich the user experience.

3. Menu Bar for Adhyayas/Text Parts: Include a menu bar with options to select or deselect specific adhyayas or parts of the text. This allows users to navigate more easily within longer texts and focus on specific sections of interest.

4. Aksharmukha Integration: Integrate Aksharamukha, a tool that allows users to switch between scripts, such as Devanagari, Roman, or other scripts as integrated in sanskritdocuments.org . This feature can accommodate users with different language preferences and enhance accessibility.

5. Page for Text Submissions: Create a dedicated page where users can submit texts to be added to the website. This encourages user participation and contributes to the expansion of the website's content.

6. Option to Hide English Translation: Provide an option for users to hide the English translation of the texts if they prefer to focus solely on the original Sanskrit. This caters to users who are proficient in Sanskrit and prefer an immersive reading experience.

7. RSS Feed: Implement an RSS feed to allow users to subscribe to updates and notifications about new content, blog posts, or website announcements. This keeps users informed and engaged with the website's latest developments.

8. Translation Tools: Integrate translation tools or plugins, preferably Google Translate, that allow users to translate Sanskrit texts into other languages, or vice versa. This can make the texts more accessible to a wider audience and facilitate cross-cultural exchange.

9. Customizable Themes: Provide customizable themes or settings that allow users to personalize their reading experience, such as adjusting font size, background color, or text alignment preferences.

10. Offline Access: Develop a feature that allows users to download Sanskrit texts for offline access, either as PDF files or in a compatible e-book format. This ensures that users can continue reading even when they are not connected to the internet.

11. Cultural Contextualization: Provide contextual information and background resources on the cultural, historical, and philosophical context of Sanskrit texts. This helps users better understand the significance and relevance of the texts within their cultural context.

12. FAQs Page: Add a page for Frequently Asked Questions to provide clarity in accessing the site.

Best regards,
