All,

|| OM ||

Attached for your kind review and comments is my brief explanation on the Ishavasyopanishad. Will be completing my other incomplete commentaries progressively (Several already translated).

The scope of the commentary is mentioned in the first section of the document. To keep the length short, I did not digress into parallel passages with similar ideas from other scriptures, different interpretations etc., except where I felt it was very necessary. Textual variants between the Madhyandina and Kanva versions, and verbally parallel/similar passages from other Upanishads are cited and briefly commented upon as well to illuminate the Ishavasya Upanishad mantras.

We all learn through illustrations and stories. To make the commentary suitable for self study, pravachan or satsang, I have added stories, illustrations from traditional sources after several mantras. I have used these stories (and modern life examples that are not included in the file) in our own Satsang group.

For obvious reasons, readers will have differing interpretations and will disagree with my specific choices from among the many possible. I am open to corrections and suggestions. I'd be happy to share the Word Document if you want to correct/annotate and send it back to me. You could send your comments to me privately at vishals...@yahoo.com if you prefer.

Feel free to share it with others.

With regards,
Vishal Agarwal

Namaskar Professor Mahulikar,

I am deeply honored by your comments (some of my friends have been your students in the online classes you teach). Please feel free to share.

In the Mantra pertaining to ascension of the Yogis, I forgot to add narratives on the Nirvana of Jnanis, like Ramana Maharshi. I will add those soon.

With regards,

Vishal Agarwal
