Regarding the sutra पञ्चम्यास्तसिल्

I came across this sutra that talks about the तसिल् pratyaya. However, when I looked at the sutra with the anuvrittis it goes like पञ्चम्याः किम्-सर्वनामबहुभ्यः अद्व्यादिभ्यः तसिल्

It seems that only for a limited class of words the तसिल् is used. Is it true? Can you not use तसिल् on let's say धर्मात् to make

धर्मात् + तसिल् -> धर्मतः

Please clarify as I was under the impression that तसिल् is a universal pratyaya.

The sutra to be used for this is 5.4.44

प्रतियोगे पञ्चम्याः तसिः, and the pratyaya is  तसिः

The varttika तसिः प्रकरणे आद्यादिभ्य उपसङ्ख्यानं is to be used. This is an akritigana.

I think you meant अपादाने चाहीयरुहोः which immediately follows this sutra which is what allows you to construct धर्मतः. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
