Inauguration of 'KoshaSHRI' Portal Developed by Deccan College at the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam in Delhi
New Delhi – On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020), a grand Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam has been organized at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. In the inaugural ceremony of this event today, the Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the IKS-EDS Center established at Deccan College, Pune.
On this occasion, the online portal ‘KoshaSHRI’, developed jointly by Deccan College and C-DAC, was also launched by the Hon’ble Minister. This portal represents the digital version of the Sanskrit Dictionary Project, which has been ongoing at Deccan College for the past 75 years.
So far, 35 volumes of the dictionary have been published, and the first 5 volumes have now been made digitally accessible to all Sanskrit scholars through this portal. The remaining volumes will also be made available on the portal in a phased manner.
The 'KoshaSHRI' portal opens new avenues for Sanskrit language study and lexicographic research and is poised to become a significant digital resource for researchers and scholars both in India and internationally.
