This is actually a sort of retrieval of a literary text from the labyrinth of scriptural and didactic interpretations which are caused by its religious dimensions accrued over a period of time. "
This statement has the following assumptions:
Ramayana is a literary text and a literary text alone without any scriptural or 'didactic' aspect originally in it.
Some interpreters piled up a labyrinth of scriptural and didactic interpretations and the literary nature of the text was lost in the process.
Is this true?
Doesn't Ramayana have any other significance than being just a literary text originally?
Which are the scriptural
and didactic interpretations of Ramayana from which Ananda Vardhana was trying to retreive the literary originality of the text?
