Any indic script can be directly typed in windows xp and above version. All you need to do is to enable the script. After enabling it you can type any script on any of your editors like word, excel, powerpoint, or any text editor. All the fonts are unicode. You can download many beautiful unicode fonts freely from the internet.
In windows 7 you can enable the languages through the following steps:
1. Open Control Panel.
2. Under the head Clock, Language and regions click on Change Keyboards and Other Input Methods.
2. This will open a new window naming Region and Languages. There you will find four tags - Formats, Location, Keyboards and Languages, Administration.
Click on Keyboards and Languages.
4. In the window you will find a button change keyboards. Click on that.
5. This will again open a new window naming Text services and input languages. Three tags will be there : General, Language Bar, Advanced Key settings. Click General. You will find a button Add on the right bottom side. Click on it.
6. A window naming Add Input Language opens again. The list of Languages will be there. Select the needed Language and click OK.
7. The window closes and you will find the previous window. Go on clicking OK and then close all the open windows.
8. Your job is over. You will find a language bar on the right hand side on the taskbar of the screen. Click on it and you will see the languages you have added. Click on any of the language and type in that language. You can also use Left Shift + Left Alt to switch between the languages.
The entire process takes 10 to 15 seconds. And you are free. The documents typed with this method is portable. You can open the document anywhere and edit it. No need to carry your own machine. As it is the case with other typing softwares. Moreover you can directly type on the internet browser.
