Actually, he has both doubts and thoughts. "Dought" is a portmanteau of "doubt" and "thought". I had some doughts myself about this word but now I am convinced.

Do not be surprised if we see this word in dictionaries in future. Remember, Sarah Palin once used refudiate on Twitter in 2010. The Twitteratti parsed it as refute + repudiate, had a good laugh @ Palin's expense, but to their chagrin it went on to become Oxford American Dictionary's 2010 Word of the Year.

We linguists should never have doughts regarding doughttful words.

PS: I am just joking, but I am not joking about Sarah Palin - that actually happened :) - http://blog.oxforddictionaries.com/2010/11/noad-2010-word-of-the-year/

The below are the appeal of Learning to the teacher how to treat his students as per Nirukta of Yaska, following the  Samhotopanishad Brahmana :

निरुक्तम् २,४          `विद्या ह वै ब्राह्मणम् आजगाम गोपाय मा शेवधि शेवधिस् ते अहम् अस्मि ।
  `असूयकाय अनृजवेऽयताय न मां ब्रूयाः। वीर्यवती तथा स्याम् ।
 `य आतृणत्त्य् अवितथेन कर्णाव्अदुह्खम् कुर्वन्न् अमृतम् सम्प्रयच्छन् ।
 `तम् मन्येत पितरं मातारं च तस्मै न द्रुहेत् कतमत् चन अहम् ।
 `अध्यापिता ये गुरुं न आद्रियन्ते विप्रा वाचा मनसा कर्मणा वा ।
`यथा एव ते न गुरोर्भोजनीयास्तथा एव तान् न भुनक्ति श्रुतम् तत् ।
`यम् एव विद्याः शुचिम् अप्रमत्तम् मेधाविनम् ब्रह्मचर्य उपपन्नम् ।

More books can be found of History of Education in India etc. on surfing the web. The first book talking about शीक्षा is शीक्षाध्याय of तैत्तिरीयोपनिषत् in its own way beginning with

अथ शीक्षां व्याख्यास्यामः - etc.

and the advice to the शिष्य are given in the section after finishing learning:

वेदमनूच्यार्योऽन्तेवासिन-मनुशास्ति ।
सत्यं वद ।
धर्मं चर ।
स्वाध्यायान्मा प्रमदः ।
आचार्याय प्रियं धनमाह्रत्य प्रजातन्तुं मा व्यवच्छेत्सीः ।
सत्यान्न प्रमदितव्यम् ।
धर्मान्न प्रमदितव्यम् ।
कुशलान्न प्रमदितव्यम् 

etc. What more reflects the  गुरुशिष्यसम्बन्धः in the words of Upanishad itself?

Thanks! But there are many such pieces which it was not felt necessary to refer to. The Ṛk-Prātiśākhya, for example, treats the whole subject of āmnāya learning from the Ācārya. Dārila, introductory part in the commentary upon the Kauśika-Sūtra, is more detailed about the different types of texts to be adopted for teaching and learning the Vedas. The second chapter of the Manu-Samhitā is another instance of detailed treatment.
The human elements get focus in the Udd
ālaka story. That and the story of Jābāli and Gautama are popular in Bengal. Tagore had a poem on the latter.

There is also the famous 'AchAryavAn purSho veda' of the Chandogya Upanishad 6th chapter.

श्रुतं ह्येव मे भगवद्दृशेभ्य आचार्याध्दैव विद्या विदिता साधिष्ठं प्रापतीति तस्मै हैतदेवोवाचात्र ह न किञ्चन वीयायेति  (Brihadaranyakopanishad ...)


prashnopanishad 6th chapter:

तमभ्यर्चयन्तः
-
त्वं हि नः पिता योऽस्माकमविद्यायाः परं पारं तारयसिइति
नमः परमऋषिभ्यो नमः परमऋषिभ्यः
To them he (again) said: - Only thus far do I know of this supreme Brahman. There is nothing higher than this.   They worshipped him ( and said): Thou, indeed, art our father who dost take us across to the other shore of nescience.
Salutation to the supreme Rishis.  Salutations to the Supreme Rishis!

There is another expression from the Upanishad which says: the debt of the disciple who has been taught by the Acharya is not repaid even if he were to pay in the form of gold heaped to the height of an elephant. 

I do not remember where this occurs. 

Again, in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad Janaka says: even if the entire kingdom is placed at the feet of the Acharya (Yajnavalkya) it would not be suffice for the teaching obtained from him.

५ स तद्यदेतद्धर्मशास्त्रं नापुत्राय नाशिष्याय नासंवत्सरोषिताय दद्यात्    from the dharma sutra (not upanishad but the message is sublime).
