Dear friends,
Thomas Burke was a personal friend and a friend to India. He went to Germany to
do language studies and then travelled to India to learn Sanskrit and grammar.
He returned back to the US in 1973 and continued as an independent scholar with
an appointment as an Administrative Staff member in Harvard University. He passed
away in 2023 at 89. India Discovery Center hosted a Memorial Symposium last May.
The proceedings of the Symposium "Language, Grammar, Prosody and Music"
