Dear ALL,

Namaste!

I, Dr. Raghava S. Boddupalli, basically a scientist from Bangalore, wanted to share the following with you ALL. I have studied the Yajurveda Taittiriya Samhita, Brahmana and Aranyanka under guru Brahmasri Vedam Venkata Rama Sastry, Bangalore.

The Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi, awarded a project titled, 'Plant Biology of Yajurveda' during 2017 to 2019. I have submitted the project report to INSA that contains 700 pages. In this report the use of plants, trees, crops and other plant substances in various rituals, as magical and also as medicinal plants that are described in the Yajurveda are comprehensively discussed with Veda mantras (provided in Devanagari and Roman Diacritic languages). Presently, the INSA is trying to publish this report as book.

I am herewith enclosing the title and back pages with contents of the report, for your perusal.

With best regards,
Raghava Boddupalli, PhD

Namaste Dr. Boddupalli-ji,

Many congratulations!
This appears, to me, to be a very differentiated contribution addressing what I sense as a gaping void in the related literature.
Thank you for sharing what you did today.
I look forward to the full book with keen interest.
Allow me here to add that a part of your work—'Project Report: Plant Biology of Yajurveda' [2019, IJHS 54(2)]was very timely, useful and cited in (p. 14 of) a recent paper Landscape in the Nāṭyaśāstra and clues to its spatial origin: A study in 2019 (forthcoming in IGNCA-Samikshika; previous thread in BVP).
Your work contributed to the possibility of a richer multi-disciplinary engagement, for which I am grateful. 🙏
With best wishes.

Sincerely,
Megh

I have read the project report in the IJHS 2019. More of this kind of objective work will be helpful.
Hearty congratulations Dr.Boddupalli on the scientific work related to the Vedas.

As that report is with the INSA and may be in the process of printing approvals from the PM's Office, I regret to say that is not sharable at present.
